For newcomers toDead Rising, there will be quite a lot of stuff to do after the end of your first 72 Hour journey. Experts will likely have less stuff to do as they’ve probably already done them in their first playthrough, but even then, there will be certain tasks best left until later.

You have two other game modes to play, numerous collectibles, side objectives, and the glory of achieving a perfect run, rescuing all survivors, and defeating all psychopaths. With the save system being far more forgiving, doing all these tasks is more tempting than in the original game.

7Overtime Mode

“You Ready For Some Overtime, Frankie”

If you beat Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster with Ending A, you’ll immediately begin Overtime mode. The climax of the game proves to be quite a challenge thanks to the special forces, which, in groups, can kill you super fast.

The true ending to Dead Rising, Overtime features even more plot reveals and a great final boss that’s actually improved from the original game. It isn’t too long, and most of it consists of item hunting, but still, Overtime is a must-play part of Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster.

6Infinity Mode

A Mode That Doesn’t Mess Around

After beating Overtime mode, you’ll unlock Infinity mode, which is drastically changed from the original. In the classic game, you had to play like normal, which meant 14 hours of play if you wanted the7 Day Survivor achievement.

In Deluxe Remaster, you can speed up time, making the achievement doable in a few hours, but unfortunately, Capcom raised the difficulty big time. After a while, cultists and special forces will spawn in the mall, making survival way harder. It’s a good challenge, but there are tasks you should probably do first to make it easier.

5Kill 53,594 Zombies

Worth It For The Best Firearm In The Game

Thetwo best weapons in Dead Rising Deluxe Remasterare the Laser Sword and the Real Mega Buster. The Real Mega Buster, in particular, is incredible and actually buffed in Deluxe Remaster because you can charge it. To get it, however, you’ll need to kill 53,594 zombies, which is a boring affair.

You’ll want to grind zombie kills in the maintenance tunnels using cars, which will take many hours. Thankfully, after killing the required amount, you get the weapon immediately, unlike the original, so you may start up a new playthrough right away and start blasting fools with this incredibly satisfying and fun-to-use firearm.

4Photograph All PP Stickers

More Tasking Than You’d Think

Since photography is a big element of Dead Rising, there are 100 total PP Stickers found throughout the mall to shoot. The game actually gives you the locations in the menu, making it more tempting to snap a shot of all of them.

It takes a while, though, because the PP marker appearing on the photograph is often unreliable in certain spots, like the Clock Tower or Space Rider, for instance. After collecting them all, you get a Jason-like hockey mask, perfect when wielding the machete.

3Get All The Costumes

A Passion For Fashion

Dead Rising has always placed a big focus on costumes, and the Deluxe Remaster added even more. There are so many to collect throughout the mall, and many of them look great, but there’s also incredible outfits to unlock from challenges as well.

You get the full Mega Man outfit this way, and the Deluxe Remaster version definitely looks better than the original. If you want, you may even buy the DLC for even freakier outfits like a Licker from Resident Evil or Rikuo from Darkstalkers.

2Find The Best Food

The Most Convenient Foods Aren’t Always The Best

To survive in Dead Rising and maximize your health refills, you’ll want the best food in your inventory. You can stock up on Orange Juice in Paradise Plaza, but that’s actually not the best option. Orange Juice only refills four blocks of health when there are items that can refill six blocks.

Some are meals that must be heated in ovens, like Golden Brown Pizzas or Well-Done Steaks. You also get six blocks from mixed juices, which is another gameplay element that separates the rookies from the pros. Mixed juices can make the game so much easier, but youmust have the game knowledgeto use them.

1Perform The Perfect Run

For Dead Rising 1 and 2, the biggest accomplishment in the base story mode has to be performing a perfect run. You must fully complete the story while also rescuing all the survivors and defeating all the psychopaths in one playthrough. This was really tough in the original game due to the survivor AI, but it’s much easier in Deluxe Remaster.

The first two-thirds are still really tight in terms of timing, so save often and make use of the auto-save feature. The final survivor requests at the end of the game essentially serve as a full completion reward, and it’s satisfying knowing you rescued everyone you can in this nightmarish scenario.
