Summary
Compared toits spiritual predecessor Link’s Awakeningand most other 2D Zelda titles,Echoes of Wisdomhas a lot more optional content that you can completely miss, especially if you’re rushing to reach credits.
While there are always a few smatterings of activities you may expect to do to 100 percent a Zelda game, Echoes of Wisdom provides a lot more variety in ways to fill your time after saving Hyrule (in truth, right before saving Hyrule, since Zelda never lets you save your game after reaching credits). So, what can you do after beating Echoes of Wisdom?
7Do Every Side Quest
Helping Hand
2D Zelda isno stranger to side quests, but clearly taking inspiration from the Switch generation of 3D Zelda, Echoes of Wisdom has a much wider selection of side quests available, with new quests appearing all over the map every time you reach certain points in the main narrative.
This means that unless you hunt down every NPC on the map after finishing each dungeon, then there is a high chance that there are still a handful of quests available after you’ve reached the conclusion of Echoes of Wisdom.
6Hunt Down Optional Rifts
Empowering Tri
One activity that you’ll get very accustomed to throughout your time in Echoes of Wisdom is fixing up rifts with the aid of Zelda’s companion Tri. These platforming challenges in the Still World are a lot of fun and are also a great way to empower Tri to increase the abilities of your Tri Rod.
However, there are plenty of rifts that are in more obscure locations that are not part of any quest line that you may clear whenever you like. These appear on the map, so this is the best way to keep track of where the leftover rifts to clear up are.
5Get Every Heart Piece
Feeling Healthy
One of the more standard post-game activities you may do in almost every Zelda game is collecting heart pieces. By collecting four of these (or five depending on the game), you will grant your hero an extra heart, making them a sturdier participant in combat, and Echoes of Wisdom is no different.
Some of these are hidden in the open, requiring aspecific set of Echoes to reach, while others will be at the end of caves or combat trials. Getting all of these is a great way to ensure that you’ve seen every corner of Echoes of Wisdom’s incarnation of Hyrule.
4Complete Every Trial In The Slumber Dojo
Sleep Soundly
Hidden on the left side of Kakariko Village, and warned against visiting by a few residents of the village, is the Slumber Dojo. Depending on how far you’ve progressed in the main narrative, the leader of the Dojo will offer Zelda a variety of challenges to complete in a time limit.
These can be quite challenging, with some even taking away all your Echoes to add an extra level of strategy. The only way to unlock all of the trials is to have reached quite late in the main story, so it’s well worth revisiting at the end to ensure you’ve picked everything up.
3Find Every Might Crystal
Become A Melee Menace
Taking inspiration from Zelda games likeSkyward Swordwhere you’ll be powering up your heroes' weapon throughout the story, Echoes of Wisdom takes a slightly less extra approach, by letting you level up your Sword of Might by collecting Might Crystals.
These gems are hidden in different specific locations, akin to heart pieces, but you’ll also get a hefty supply by completing rifts as well. By leveling up your Sword of Might, Zelda can stay in the sword-wielding form for longer, as well as separately powering up her sword attacks, bow attacks, and bombs.
verify to regularly return to Lueberry after finishing the game to ensure that you can spend even more of these crystals as you collect them.
2Create Every Automaton
Dampe’s Assistant
One of the more involved and interesting side quests throughout Echoes of Wisdom involves befriending and helping Zelda series regular Dampe in creating a series of automatons. These robots can be wielded and sent out to battle by Zelda alongside her Echoes, making her significantly more powerful (especially against the final boss when she can’t use the Sword of Might).
Getting all six of these automatons is more challenging than you might expect since you’ll not only need to show Dampe specific Echoes, but also obtain specific items that can only be received by completing other quest lines, so expect collecting all the automatons to keep you busy for a while.
1Complete All Your Stamp Cards
Stamp Guy’s Rewards
You will likely notice as you explore throughout Hyrule grey square tables placed in different locations, some obvious, while others are more hidden. If you were curious enough to interact with these, you’ll have met Stamp Guy, the eccentric parachute-wielding man who tasks you with filling out his stamp cards.
There are 25 of these spots, and five cards to fill in (to keep track of which tables you’ve used, check to see if the stamp is still there), and by filling out all five you’ll net some unique rewards, while also ensuring that you’ve seen every obscure corner of Hyrule.
