Summary
Aspyr has announcedTomb Raider4 - 6 Remastered is releasing in 2025 and will bring together remade versions of The Last Revelation, Chronicles, and, most interestingly of all, The Angel of Darkness.
As any Tomb Raider fan will tell you (trust me, I work with one of the biggest), it’s been an excruciatingly long timesince Lara Croft had a new adventure. While we do know for sure thatanother game is coming at some point in the future, fans have recently beentided over with remasters of Lara’s earlier adventures.
Earlier this year, Aspyr released a remastered collection of the first three Tomb Raider games, which turned out to be a massive hit and paved the way for more to come. Since then, fans have been asking for more of Lara’s adventures to get the same treatment, and that’s exactly what’s going to happen.
Tomb Raider 4 - 6 Remastered Announced, Includes Angel Of Darkness
Over on the PlayStation Blog, Aspyr confirmed that its next project for the series will be Tomb Raider 4 - 6 Remastered, which will be launching on June 12, 2025, a whole year after the first collection. This time around, the choices are a little stranger than the iconic first three games, as the titles picked are all a little less beloved.
First up is Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation, which sees Lara going after the Amulet of Horus and notably introducing rope swinging to the series for the first time. Then there’s Tomb Raider Chronicles, which is a surprisingly dark entry since Lara is presumed dead and has her friends telling stories of her past adventures.
The biggest surprise of all, though, is that the collection is remastering Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness, which is widely believed to be one of the worst entries in the series. That being said, fans have been asking for it to be remastered and given a second chancefor quite some time, so it’s hopefully going to be good news for some.
Now I’m just praying that we get remasters of the Legend trilogy next. Or, you know, just give us a new game.
The PlayStation Blog lists some of the features included in the remastered collection, and they’ll be familiar to anyone who played Tomb Raider 1 - 3 Remastered. Toggleable graphics, modern controls, photo mode, and a whole bunch of trophies are all going to be included in this re-release, which should make it the best way to play the rest of the hexology.
