Twitchstreamers are always doing wild things to try and help them stand out from the crowd, what with the platform so difficult to get a foothold on. Thankfully, the streamer we’re talking about today isn’t putting himself in any physical harm, just mental harm instead.First shared by PC Gamer, a Twitch streamer by the name of IrateFrenchFryrecently went viral on TikTokfor giving his Twitch chat a very dangerous amount of power. In his stream, IrateFrenchFry managed to build a headset that his fans could interact with and essentially make the streamer temporarily blind while playing games.
In the clip above, you can see IrateFrenchFry attempting to playRainbow Six Siege, though the visor on his headset drops over his eyes twice in quick succession, getting him killed in the confusion. There are a number of other clips of his TikTok account of him playing different games with this device strapped to his head, includingFall Guys,Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, and more.
As for how IrateFrenchFry actually set up this system, he explains to PC Gamer that he achieved this by programming a microcontroller board that monitors his Twitch chat. Whenever someone in the chat types something like ‘!blind’, his headset then responds in kind, lowering the blinders and making his gaming session all the more painful.
Twitch Streamer Allows Chat To Set Off Real Life Jumpscares
Because this isn’t torturous enough for IrateFrenchFry, he also has various videos of himself playing horror games while his Twitch chat can set off real-life jumpscares. In the clip above, we can see the poor man taking down a creepy woman, and then pause thinking he’s in the clear. Unfortunately, his chat then sets off a blood-curdling scream and a puppet of the exact same woman drops from the ceiling.
Quite why IrateFrenchFry is subjecting himself to this unpleasantness, only the man himself will be able to tell you. At the very least, it’s a pretty unique way to play a horror game, though I don’t think many would enjoy Nemesis or Mr X bursting through their wall when they do so inResident Evil.
