Life Is Strange: Double Exposureis the long-awaited sequel to the first Life Is Strange game from 2015. We see a return of protagonist Max Caulfield with an all new adventure, friends, and powers.

Even with the controversy surrounding how Max and Chloe’s relationship was handled, this turned out to be a beautiful game filled with mystery, loveable characters, and, as per usual, important decisions that have an impact on the characters involved. However, after finishing the game, we are still left with many lingering questions regarding the story, so let’s explore a few of those.

Alderman Getting Sucked Into Past Version In Life Is Strange_ Double Exposure.

Everything in this list contains spoilers for the ending of Life Is Strange: Double Exposure, so venture forth at your own risk!

What Really Happened To Alderman And Why Didn’t Fixing The Timelines Bring Him Back?

We may not have liked Detective Vince Alderman very much, but that doesn’t mean we wanted him to be completely erased. Right?Whether you chose to help yourself or try to save him, being erased from existence is a rough gig. But is that what really happened to him? After this moment, we’re not shown any version of him again in the game, even after Max merges the timelines and fixes everything.

Also, since we never did meet his Living World double, could he still be alive, and we just don’t know? And if he is, will we see him again in the future, or will this just remain as one of those questions that never gets answered?

What’s The Deal With The Owl?

Animal symbolism is a popular trend across the Life Is Strange franchise. Throughout the series we see a blue butterfly, a doe, a raccoon, a raven, and many more. In Double Exposure, the animal we see the most is an owl. Whenever something weird happens between the two timelines, an owl usually appears for Max to see.

The first time we see the owl is that first night when Safi is shot. We see one again later when Max is meeting Moses at the Overlook. Additionally, every coat of Max’s has an owl pin on the lapel. What does that mean, and what does the owl signify?

Diamond Talking To Safi In Post-Credit’s Scene In Life Is Strange_ Double Exposure.

What Powers Does Diamond Have?

In each instance where someone in the Life Is Strange franchise has powers, we’ve seen something different. Max had time travel powers before, and now she can travel between alternate timelines. Alex’s powers are related to empathy, Daniel’s is telekineses, and Safi can shapeshift.

During the post-credits scene we learn that Diamond also has powers, but not what her powers are. So what do you think her powers are? Maybe it’s telepathy, or will we start seeing something elemental, like metal or flight?

Will We Ever See A Crossover With Other Life Is Strange Games?

With the emergence of more characters having powers within the Max Caulfield universe, could it be possible that Max, Alex, and Daniel are connected as well in some way? Now that Safi is going out to round up power-users, could we meet up with previous protagonists again in future games?

And what would that look like? Maybe we’ll get Safi as the protagonist, learning how to navigate her own powers as they morph and change while trying to help other young people with their powers. What sort of obstacles will she face? Will her journey ever bring her back to Lakeport, or is she gone forever?

Max Caulfield At Overlook In Life Is Strange_ Double Exposure.

Is This The Max Caulfield Show Or Will We Ever Get A New Protagonist?

If you stick around for the post-credits scene, after we see Safi talking to Diamond we’re given this message that Max Caulfield will return again to Life Is Strange. What I want to know is, what would this look like? Will Max be the protagonist again, and if so, will we see her powers transformed again? We’ve seen her go backwards in time and travel between dimensions, but maybe next time she’ll be able to see the future.

And though I love Max, this news also has me wondering if Life Is Strange has become the Max Caulfield Show, or if we’ll ever see her through the eyes of a new protagonist instead? Or maybe we’ll get a game where we play as two protagonists, and one of them is Max Caulfield. That would make for an interesting story, especially if the other person’s powers are somehow similar or complimentary to Max’s.

Will The Controversy Over Max And Chloe’s Relationship Affect How Deck Nine Handles The Next Game?

And last but certainly not least….the Chloe Controversy. There have been several fans of the Chloe and Max relationship, affectionately referred to as Pricefield, who were upset with how the relationship was handled. Essentially, during the first chapter you get to choose whether you saved Arcadia Bay or saved Chloe.

If you saved Chloe, you find out that Pricefield eventually broke up, and now they hardly talk anymore. Will the backlash they’ve received about how the relationship was handled affect future games with Max Caulfield, and how? Also, in playthroughs where Chloe lived, she reaches out to Max after the events of Chapter 5. Could this mean we might see Chloe again in a future game?
