Summary
TheUntil Dawnremake is a disaster.Launching to “Mixed” reviews on Steam, fans slammed the new version forlooking “way worse” than the original, with clips going viral of stretched teeth and scenes thatlook radically different without the blue filter.
The remake also suffers from poor frame and broken AMD FSR 3 (as reported byWccftech), as well as brand-new bugs that weren’t present in the original version. One of which makes Sam look like a walking, zombified corpse even if she’s still alive.
As pointed out by Reddit user Crylose, if you reload the game after getting Sam impaled, you’ll have another chance to save her… but she’ll still look dead.
There Are A Bunch Of Game Breaking Bugs, Too.
One look at social media and you’ll see a growingly frustrated community trying to play through the new, updated version of Until Dawn, only to run into brick walls that completely halt their progress.
Players have reported events not triggering, clipping through walls, rooms that simply don’t load in, key icons not appearing, cutscenes refusing to start, and a totem that just doesn’t work. That’s if you avoid the freezing, stuttering, and crashes, which plenty more players have reported running into.
Suffice to say, it’s a mess right now. And given the $60 price tag, fans aren’t too happy about the state of the game.
