Even though Until Dawn is far and away the most popular and acclaimed game from Supermassive, there was still a lot of confusion when it was announced that it would be getting a PS5 remake. Many fans thought it simply didn’t need one and that there wouldn’t be enough added to it to justify a re-release.
While that initially seemed to be the case when it was first revealed, the Until Dawn remake has actually changed around quite a bit and added in some new content. While the new totems and camera angles might not be enough for most to return to Blackwood Mountain, a brand-new ending that grants a long-standing fan request is definitely going to do it.

Until Dawn Remake Includes A Brand-New Ending
As is the way with most big releases nowadays,Until Dawn’s PS5 release has somehow gotten into the hands of players ahead of its October 4 release date, which means that a lot of gameplay footage has been shared. Yesterday, that just meant a few videos of the revamped introduction, but now a much bigger leak has revealed that an entirely new ending can be unlocked.
Over on the Until Dawn subreddit, crawlplays shared a video of the remake’s new ending, which adds two new post-credit scenes to the game. In the first, Josh is shown having survived his encounter with the Wendigo while a voiceover from Dr Hill teases him finding “redemption”, seemingly hinting that he might escape safely or be rescued.
The second post-credits scene shows Sam in her apartment several years after the events of Blackwood Mountain. After waking up at 6am, she goes to look at her phone and finds blood dripping from a wound on her arm that she’s likely hallucinating. As she gets up, she hears a voice calling her name, implying that she’s still suffering from PTSD.
Josh getting the chance to survive the events of Until Dawn is something that fans have been wantingto see ever since it launched, so the new ending is a pretty big deal. Sam’s new post-credits scene shows the long-term effects the mountain has had on her, while also suggesting there’s more of her story to be told.
Some fans have pointed out that Firesprite is said to be working on a new game in an “established” horror series, which could very well be an Until Dawn sequel.
