Vesper’s Host might have the strongest loot pool we’ve seen in aDestiny 2dungeon. This dungeon drops four unique weapons that have some S-tier perk combinations, including some strange synergies that you wouldn’t expect. Trigger Explosive Light during a DPS phase, inflict Jolt from sustained fire, or gain wallhacks just by shooting a Fusion Rifle.
The VS line of weapons are some of Destiny’s strongest offerings, and they all have multiple god roll perk combinations you should be chasing. In this guide, we go over the best rolls you may find on every weapon from Vesper’s Host, including the meta-defining VS Chill Inhibitor and Gravitic Arrest.
VS Chill Inhibitor
VS Chill Inhibitor might be thestrongest Grenade Launcher in the game, at least as far as PvE is concerned. This is the first Rapid-Fire GL that can getEnvious ArsenalwithBait and Switch, auto-reloading this weapon whenever you damage a target with your other two weapons. If you run multiple Envious Arsenal weapons, most of which are on the new seasonal guns, you effectivelyneverhave to reload.
That’s not the only combination worth farming for either. you’re able to also getAttrition Orbson this weapon, a first for a Heavy GL. This will generate Orbs of Power from sustained damage, which can then procExplosive Lightto greatly increase your damage. It’s the only GL that can trigger Explosive Light during a DPS phase like this, although we doubt it’ll outperform the Envious Arsenal roll—unless your entire fireteam is using it, in which case this roll is leagues better.
This weapon can also getChill Clipin the second trait column. Consider keeping a roll with Chill Clip if you frequently farm Grandmaster Nightfalls.
As for PvP, VS Chill Inhibitor might not be the objective best option, but it’s still a serviceable weapon.DemolitionistandChain Reactionis a decent combination for general use in 6v6 and 3v3 modes. Try to farm for a Blast Radius roll to improve the gun’s consistency.

We haven’t seen powercreep in Fusion Rifles quite like this since Lightfall. This is the first Fusion Rifle to getWithering Gaze, a variant of Box Breathing that loads a burst of Weakening projectiles if you ADS for a short duration. Debuffs have usually been exclusive to Exotics and abilities, so having the ability to debuff targets with your Special weapons opens up some loaodut flexibility in PvE.
PvP is where this weapon really gets to flex its power. WIthering Gaze is absurdly strong when paired withStylish Executioneron Hunters, giving you invisibility and wallhacks just for killing someone. Throw onRepulsor Bracefor even more synergy. If you’re looking for a less niche roll, this is also the first Fusion to getClosing Time, effectively Opening Shot that scales based on your magazine size. Your bolts effectively bend towards targets when your magazine is close to empty.

VS Pyroelectric Propellant
If you never got your hands on a Summoner from Trials of Osiris, the VS Pyroelectric Propellant fulfills a similar niche. It’s a 600 RPM Auto Rifle that has some S-tier consistency perks for PvP and strong add clear options for PvE.Eddy CurrentwithJolting Feedbackis surprisingly solid roll. Sustained damage willinflict Jolt on targets, and killing those enemies will trigger Amplified, greatly buffing Eddy Current’s reload bonus.
We also highly recommend Attrition Orbs with Onslaught.
Crucible players can juice the range on this gun withFragile Focus.With a good roll, you’re looking at an impressive 34 meters of effective range on this weapon. Better yet, you can pair this withKill Clipfor a monstrous 0.6s TTK. And if Kill Clip isn’t your style, rockTarget Lockfor a more forgiving optimal TTK in duels. VS Pyroelectric Propellant has virtually no weaknesses.

There’s one reason you’d use this gun:Attrition Orbs.Velocity Baton is an Area-Denial Grenade Launcher, which means that each trigger pull will activate Attrition Orbs (twice if Enhanced). This is nothing short of S-tier from a utility standpoint. Instantly trigger surge mods on your armor, ramp upFeast of Lightstacks, or build up Super energy just by firing this gun. you’re able to even throw onDemolitionistorUnrelentingfor even more utility.
This archetype is absolutely terrible in PvP and generally isn’t worth using, but thatAttrition Orbstech works here as well. If you’re going to use this GL for any reason, it should be to spawn Orbs of Power.Under-Overat least makes this weapon a decent counter to Warlock Rifts.
