Warhammer Is Thriving Right Now

News of a PS5 Darktide port couldn’t come at a better time. Saber Interactive just released the immensley popularSpace Marine 2. In less than a month, it has skyrocketed intothe top ten most-played Steam games this year, making itthemost played Warhammer gameof all-time.

Darktide is also high up on that list, holding the number four spot. Although, it hasn’t been without its controversy.

The game has an overall score of ‘Mixed’ on Steam, with many describing it as a “regression” from Vermintide 2, upset at the lack of new missions which have made the game feel “repetitive” and the controversial monetisation. It has also been mired in bugs and crashes since its release, although reviews have begun to improve recently as these have been ironed out — the recent score now sits at a more respectable ‘Mostly Positive’.

Aside from a litany of improvements that have raised player morale, Darktide also has cross-platform play, so releasing for PS5 will only breathe new life into the game acrossallplatforms. In the wake of Space Marine 2’s continuing success, even moreso.
