The Codex Astartes prepares an Ultramarine for any type of engagement. Whether it’s brute force or tactical maneuvering, there’s always a way to kill a mutant or heretic. You’ll need to use all available assets to deal with what’s coming in season two ofWarhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2.
Focus Entertainment has given a glimpse at what we’ll be in for – new weapons and cosmetics, a new difficulty level, a new mode, and a new Operation featuring the largest Tyranid known to the Imperium, the Hierophant Bio-Titan.
More Ways To Serve The Emperor
The new Operation, named Termination, is the highlight of the upcoming season. The Operation will see your three-man squad return to Kadaku, as the planet has been taken over by the Tyranids, with the massive Hierophant Bio-Titan stomping anything in its path. And if that isn’t enough for you, showcase your valour to the Emperor in a new Lethal Difficulty mode, both coming for free “very, very soon.”
A new weapon and a fan-favourite chapter will also be coming to the game. While we didn’t see the upcoming Neo Volkite pistol in action, it is considered to be way more powerful than any other Space Marine pistol, delivering armor piercing, powerful shots.
The Dark Angels chapter will also join the fight, with themed armour pieces, weapon styles, and color schemes. If Bulwark is your choice of class, you’ll also get a special champion pack full body skin to truly stand out in the battlefield. However, you’ll need to own the season pass for this.
However, there’s still no specific launch date for season two, but Focus Entertainment has ensured that it will be this year.
The Focus has also mentioned that over time, Space Marine 2 will get new modes, new arenas, more weapons, and enemies that have never seen before. The Eternal War never ends, and you’ll need all the equipment you can muster to spread the Emperor’s glory.
Ultramarines work in teams, but thethree-person co-op caused a lot of story compromisesaccording to creative director Oliver Hollis-Leick. Keeping Titus, Chairon and Gadriel together throughout the campaign made it a bit difficult for the writers as they “could have done way more” without that requirement.
The three had to stay together due to the game’s co-op campaign feature, causing the narrative to be a bit restricted to a certain path.
