There will come a point inMetaphor: ReFantaziowhen you start finding various Mask items in dungeons and earned by defeating enemies and it won’t be immediately clear what these are for, so let us clue you in. These items are used in Special Experiments, a feature available in Akademia once you unlock a specific Archetype.
We’re going to cover everything you need to know about Special Experiments here, but be warned that if you don’t want to spoil Archetypes you have yet to unlock, you might just want to wait and see by playing the game yourself.
When Do Special Experiments Unlock?
On 8/13, you’ll have a new ally for your party, who channels theMasked Dancer Archetype. When you can next visit Akademia, More will inform you about Special Experiments and you’ll be able to use the various Mask items you’ve been collecting tocraft new Masks for Masked Dancerto use.
Later on in September, after visiting Virga Island, you’ll gain another new ally that has theSummoner Archetype. After this point, you’ll have a new section in the Special Experiments menu, Summon Experiments. Similar to crafting masks, you cancraft Vessels using Talismans so that Summoners can call upon new beasts.
