Although the Budokai Tenkaichi games were never exactly easy, they weren’t known for their difficulty, which means that a lot of players have been surprised at how difficultDragon Ball: Sparking Zerois.

The main point of contention for players is how difficult Sparking Zero’s story mode can be. These are challenging already, but get really tough with their what-if unlocking secondary objectives - that’s where Dragon Orbs come in.

An explantion of Dragon Orbs in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero.

What Dragon Orbs Do

Throughout many of Sparking Zero’s Episode Battles, you’ll be able tocomplete a secondary objective and see an alternative ending. These what-if scenarios come in many different forms, but they tend to require defeating the enemy in as fast a time as possible, which can be tough consideringyou can’t complete them if you lower the difficulty.

Although some of the what-if scenarios are just single cutscenes, some of them are whole sagas of alternate pathways called Sparking Episodes. It’s best to use the Dragon Orbs here.

Mercifully, there’s a way around this - Dragon Orbs. If you’re struggling to complete a secondary objective, using a Dragon Orb will lower the difficulty of that task, essentially giving you more time to complete it and making it less of a grind. The match won’t be counted as a victory, meaning you won’t get Zeni or any unlocks, but it does let you progress to see the Sparking Episode, making them invaluable.

How To Get Dragon Orbs

As of the time of writing, the only way to get Dragon Orbs is, fittingly enough, from Shenron, Porunga, or Super Shenron. If you summon any three of the Dragons andmake the “I want to complete an Episode Battle” wish, you’ll be awarded a Dragon Orb. It seems that each Dragon only gives you one, though, so itmight be best to save the wish for Shenron and not waste it on Porunga or Super Shenron.

You’ll only get this notification ifyou’ve tried to complete an Episode Battle and failed its secondary objectives, which means you may’t stock up on them and hope for the best.
