In true Life Is Strange fashion,Life Is Strange: Double Exposureis filled with moments where you have to make big decisions that affect the story. One of your earliest big decisions occurs towards the end of Chapter 1, a couple of days after Safi’s death.
The first time you enter the Fine Arts Building after speaking with Safi’s mom, Yasmin, Max will begin listening in on Gwen Hunter’s phone call. Loretta, the resident true crime podcaster, catches you eavesdropping. Should you answer her questions, or call her bluff and allow her to tell Gwen you were snooping?
Because this choiceonly comes up because of Safi’s death, it will only affect your interactions with Dead World Gwen.
What Happens If You Call Loretta’s Bluff?
When Loretta catches you eavesdropping on Gwen’s phone call in Chapter 1, she beginsasking you some questions regarding Safi’s character. After you tell her you don’t want to smear Safi’s name, she threatens totell Gwen that you were eavesdropping.
If you make the choice to call her bluff, she rushes to Gwen’s office andtells Gwen about you eavesdropping.
Gwen quickly shoots her down, but when Loretta leaves,she asks you why you were eavesdropping. And no matter how you respond, she’ll be very disappointed with you andtell you to stay away from her.
Later on, during Chapter 3, when you arrive at Gwen’s office she’ll say to you “No conversationsfor you to conveniently overhear this time” and she reluctantly agrees to answer your questions about Safi’s book and Maya Okada. And shewon’t let you read Safi’s manuscript when you ask.
To get a hold of Safi’s manuscript from Gwen, you’ll need toshift into Living World Gwen’s office, which is empty, and get themanuscript from the same drawerthat you saw Dead World Gwen use.
While you’re looking around Gwen’s office, you cantake a snapshot of her vintage record playerand post it to your Crosstalk page. If you called Loretta’s bluff and Gwen knows you were eavesdropping, she’ll comment on your post thatshe didn’t give you permission to look through her things.
What Happens If You Answer Loretta’s Questions?
If you decide to answer her questions, you tell her that youactually don’t know anything,and she should probably ask someone whose known Safi longer than six months.
Lorettaasks you for a leadon who else to talk to about this. The options to choose from are Gwen, Safi’s mom, or Vinh. No matter which name you choose,Loretta will thank you and walk away.
This time, Dead World Gwen in Chapter 3 ispleased to see youwhen you ask questions regarding Safi’s book and Maya, andshe’ll allow you to read Safi’s manuscript, saying that “Someone ought to.”
