As it turns out, it’s not something you can concern yourself with until quite late into the game. Once you get there, however, the bulk of the game’s very best classes are yours - if you put the work in. Here’s how Grand Fantasy works in Metaphor: ReFantazio!

The Royal Warrior class in Metaphor ReFantazio.

All party members who have reached rank eight will be ready to obtain their Royal-tier class, and if you’ve got some stragglers (in fact, you’ll surely need more ranks for at least the late-joining Basilio), then get to work on that ASAP.

These Royal-tier classes, or’Royal Archetypes', are thesecret fourth tier for each party member’s default lineage. ForStrohl, this would be theRoyalWarrior, then, and so forth. (The “so forth” is listed below.)

Based on thesecondary Archetype(s) requirementsfor each character, and if you’re reading all of this early enough, you can let these requirements help to inform you of what else to have each character learn.

For example,Eupha should study the Seeker Archetype, in order to have Seeker at Rank 20, then Magic Seeker at Rank 20, and lastly, Soul Hacker at Rank 20. This ensures thatonce she’s at Bond Rank 8 and has mastered Devil Summoner, she’s ready for her Royal Summoner class as quickly as possible.
