While playingDisney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, you’ll quickly realize that the game has quite a long prologue where it teaches you the general mechanics. This tutorial part roughly ends when you get past the Jungle Boat Ride area, which is also when your first important side quest shows up.
This quest comes in the form of Small Pete walking through the doorway as you’re about to exit the area. He asks you to find the Ship’s log in Gremlin Village and prove his innocence to the Gremlins, though that’s not necessarily what you have to do.
How To Get Small Pete’s Ship’s Log
If you want to get Small Pete’s ship’s log, you’llfirst have to reach an area called World of Gremlins. This can be found right after you finish the Asia Boat Ride area and go through the side-scrolling level at the end. Once you reach this area, you’ll find an airplane ride to the right side with Gremlin Bennett standing near it.
you may use the ride to get to the higher platform on the left and thenuse double jump into a spin attack to get to the shipwreck. Once you’re there, head to the backside and you’ll find a wall that you can thin out, which will reveal a gear that you can turn by using Mickey’s spin attack.
This gear will open the front area with the log in it, which you can theneither show to Bennett or another Gremlinin the village.
What To Do With Small Pete’s Ship’s Log
When you read the quest after you acquire the log, it’ll ask you to give the log to Bennett to prove Small Pete’s innocence, which would also be thebetter option for your first playthrough since you get way more rewards. However, you can also give the logs to another Gremlin called Shaky, who can be found to the right of the main exit from this area.
Shaky’s wearing a yellow hat sohe’ll be quite difficult to miss. Here’s what will happen depending on who you show the log to first:
Giving The Log To Bennett
This will put you on the path of finishing the quest, proving Small Pete’s innocence. You’ll meet him again once you reach the Colosseum in the next area, and he’ll benice to you and open a special door leading to treasure.
Going into this secret area willgive you a Bronze Pin and “The Colosseum” concept art. Moreover, once you reach Mean Street and talk to Big Bad Pete, he’ll also give you a pin for it called the Small Pete Pin.
Giving The Log To Shaky
Alternatively, giving the log to Shaky will instantly get you the Gremlin pin, but you won’t get much else for it. Furthermore, when you meet Small Pete in the Colosseum, hewill instead force you to fight a battle against many Blotlings.
When you meet Big Bad Pete in Mean Street, healso won’t be happy with you, though he won’t take anything away.
The rewards for both choices are exclusive and you can onlyget to choose one of themduring a specific playthrough.
However, once you finish the game, you canstart a New Game Plus runto make the other choice.
