The bulk of the myriad activities available to you inMetaphor: ReFantaziocan be done during the daytime. Yet in Metaphor, much like Atlus' Persona series, you typically have a nighttime action to spend as well. What then, should you do with your time once the sun is down and your opportunities have dwindled?

There’s still enough to pick between so that you’ll never bump into an impasse. We figured it’d be helpful to keep a running tally of what all you may accomplish at night - in fact, much of what follows canonlybe done at night. Here’s everything we’ve found!

Certain Followers

Two of theFollowersinMetaphor: ReFantazio,Brigitta and Alonzo, arefrequently around only at night. In fact,Brigitta is almostalwaysexclusive to evenings.

Other Followers, includingparty members, aresometimesaround at night; a handful of themwill require an evening-related excursion at least once.

Focusing on Brigitta makes the most sense here, as well as Alonzo when needed.Think of Brigitta in particular as a leading way to spend your nighttime actionin Metaphor, and you’ll race through her ranks.

Royal Virtue Activities

ManyRoyal Virtueactivities are available both during daytime and nighttime. Others areexclusively available at night.

That’s not to say you won’t find ample ways to raise many of them when the sun’s still up, but sincethere’s more competition for your time during the day, it can be beneficial to work on these at night. Some fine examples follow:

The Coliseum

Unlike many of Metaphor’s routine attractions, you can take part in coliseum matches by dayandat night. This means it’s broadlybest to spend time at the coliseum at nightwhen there’s so much less to do elsewhere.

Advancing through all the coliseum ranks, and acquiring this battle-centric facility’s every reward, requiresroughly ten actions' worth of matches- and that’s assuming you win them all.

Always save before participating in a match so that you don’t waste an evening!

You won’t have access to the coliseum early on, butonce you’re done with the events in Brilehaven, it’ll be up and running most nights (and days).

Camping

If you’retraveling aboard the Gauntlet Runner, and your destination requiresat least a full dayto get to, thenyou will have no choice but to spend your evenings campingat rest spots along the itinerary.

But camping isn’t just, well, camping. You have multiple options on nights spent camping, including:

Watch Plays Or Hit The Hot Springs

This last section regardsthe late-game sections of Metaphor. After you’re done inAltabury, you’ll soon be able towatch several different plays at the opera housethere. Each of theseraises a certain Royal Virtue, andall are worth seven points(!).

There are few, if any, better ways towrap up reaching the max in each Royal Virtue.

As for usingAltabury’s hot springs, this involves getting even further into the final weeks of the game. Inearly October, a side quest will pop up in Altabury -an NPC here will ask you to check out the hot springs and get a vial of spring waterfor her.

Once you’ve completed the quest, you can now spend time at the hot springs at night to raise the protagonist’s statswith variousbath saltinfusions. It’s not unlikebathing aboard the Gauntlet Runner, except there’s no travel time necessary!
