10Choose A Main

Druids, Evokers, And Priests, Oh My!

With leveling being easier than ever, players no doubt have a plethora of characters ready to choose from. The starting quests of The War Within give excellent gear, so any character can be geared while leveling. The problem then becomes which class to pick.

There is no wrong answer. Picking a class with mobility, likeDruidor Shaman, will make for a speedier experience. However, classes like Priest and Warrior allow for versatility in dungeon roles. Whatever class you pick, just ensure it is one you enjoy. All sorts of new talents have been added, so don’t be afraid to try something new.

9Get To Khaz Algar

Okay, so you have your character! But where exactly are they going? The main continent for The War Within is the mystical and mysterious world of Khaz Algar. Most of it is located underground, leaving tons of interesting places to explore and discover. But you have to get there first.

Getting to Khaz Algar is easy. Simply do the introduction questline involving Dalaran, and your character will be there before they know it. The Dalaran questline is chock-full of fantastic character moments and exciting action, so make sure to soak it all in. Once there, just follow the quests.

8Update Your Professions

The Grind Never Stops

Once you’ve settled into Khaz Algar, it’s a good idea to update your professions. Professions are various side skills that can be increased over time to create new and exciting things. This is the main way to make gold in the end game, so getting a head start by updating your professions is wise.

Those who practice Mining and Herbalism will be able to earn extra experience by mining rocks and picking flowers, so those are always a good option to start with. Whatever the profession, however, ensure you update to the most recent version to get all the new recipes. It’ll be the top-most option when visiting a trainer.

7Set Up Your Hearthstone

Home Is Where The Hearth Is

No, notthat Hearthstone. Hearthstones are objects that allow players to return to a safe inn or location that they have set in advance. When moving onto a new area, it’s a good idea to update your Hearthstone. Forgetting this might mean teleporting to an entirely different area- or even a different continent. And nobody wants that.

Setting your Hearthstone in the city of Dornogal is a good idea. It is located in the heart of the Isle of Dorn and is the main city for the War Within expansion. It has access to anything a character might need all in one location and is perfectly safe for any weary travelers.

6Set Up Flight Locations

Fly The Friendly Skies

While flying around the Khaz Algar skies is fun on its own, eventually, every player will get lazy. There will come a point where you just want to go grab a snack and come back to your character already where they need to be.

For times like this, there are flight masters who can send you to different locations. Say hi to a few of these flight masters when you see them to save yourself some time later on. It’ll allow for future ease of use, and any flight locations unlocked on one character are unlocked for all.

5Start Dorn Questline

Get Digging Through Dorn

The Isle of Dorn is a place of contradictions. The Earthen are involved in a massive philosophical shift when the players arrive, with some wanting to serve the mysterious Titans while others wish to forge their own paths. All the while, the Nerubians invade, taking advantage of the divisions.

It is up to the player character to earn their keep. Start slaying spiders and mending schisms by questing your way through the Isle of Dorn. There are plenty of helpful NPCs along the way and a whole culture to explore. The Isle of Dorn is a beautiful place with beautiful quests- enjoy.

4Grab Important Side Quests

Unlock The Earthen While You Play

While adventuring on the Isle of Dorn, it is important to remember that there are side quests and side stories happening alongside the main story. Undertaking these stories helps get a better understanding of the world, but they are also important for unlocking the new Allied Race.

The Earthen are the latest Allied Race to be introduced in World of Warcraft. Unlike other Allied Races, they are not locked behind a reputation grind. Simply complete the main questline as well as some side quests to unlock access to these new allies. Make sure to track the achievement to keep track of what needs to be done.

3Grab Glyphs

Go Flying, Get Achievements

While adventuring from place to place, you may notice glowing things in the sky. Don’t be alarmed. These are not Nerubian satellites or anything. These are flying glyphs. First introduced in Dragonflight, flying glyphs are fun collectibles earned while Skyriding.

These are hidden all over Khaz Algar and often in tricky places. Your mount will alert you once you’re in the general area of one, but it is up to you to find them. Finding all the Glyphs will earn some fun achievements, and they are part of the hidden collectibles in The War Within. Grab a few while out flying to get started.

2Stay And Listen

Hear Us Out

The War Within has some of the best writing World of Warcraft has ever had- and a lot of it is hidden. While questing, you may occasionally notice that there is an option to ‘stay and listen’ after accepting a quest. If you click that dialogue option, you will be treated to a conversation between up to several characters.

These conversations can range from grief to fatherhood to the nature of the Earthen, with anything in between. These moments aren’t mandatory for the story- but they are excellent character moments that really help to develop the world around them. Stay and listen for a while. You won’t regret it.
