Rekais a cozy, witch game that gives you the freedom to explore the countryside in your chicken-legged house. Thankfully, the game is being updated and as such, Halloween 2024 brought The Witching Hour update, which introduces the mysterious Bludnik into the game.
So, what is a Bludnik and how do you interact with it? In this guide, we are going to answer just that. Here, we will go over how to interact with the Bludnik and gain access to the updated content in Reka. You don’t need to start a new game to see a Bludnik, so load that old save!
Reka is currently in Early Access on Steam and as such, the content is subject to change. We will update these articles as required.
Where Are The Bludnik?
Bludnik onlyappear at night in the swampy areas of the map.If you are starting a new game, you’ll be able to find them once you leave the tutorial area. If, on the other hand, you’re loading an old save,you’ll first need to venture to a new map.These willnot appear on maps that were loaded in before the update came out.
If it’s not nighttime, you canhop in your bed and opt to wake up at night.This will place you right at the start of the night. If you don’t have a bed, don’t worry! Just explore until night falls.
Once you make it to a new map, then you’ll have a chance to spot a Bludnik. How do you actually find them though? First, you’ll need toexplore around watery areas until you see what appears to be three dead trees twisting upwards.Thankfully, this location is alsomarked on your mapso if you happen to pass by without noticing, it will be on your map already.
How To Interact With A Bludnik
It’s possible to spot the Bludnik before encountering the twisting trees. If this happens,simply follow the Bludnik until you reach the area.
After you make it to this twisted tree area (at night), you’ll need toscan the surrounding area for a bright white creature, which is the Bludnik.Upon approach, the Bludnik will start to head to the twisting trees;your goal is to follow it.
Ultimately, the Bludnik will head back to the twisting trees andsubmerge itself into the ground.When it disappears, the tree area will thenturn into a shrine.At this point, lights will appear around the shrine, along with what looks to be an offering plate.
What To Offer The Bludnik
From here, you will now need toplace an offering on the Bludnik shrine.When interacting with it, a list of yourcooked food itemswill be pulled up, allowing you to pick the one that you want to offer. Based on our offerings, we’ve noticed that the Bludnik respond well to some of the following dishes.
If you put one of these dishes on the offering plate,a chest will spawn.You’ll also be able toput several of the same dish out,like a few loaves of bread. Be sure to experiment with other foods as well; there are a lot of cooked food dishes in the game.
There are alsodishes that ‘poison’ the Bludnik;when this happens, the lights around the offering plate will turn red. It seems that the Bludnikdon’t appreciate any dish with mushrooms in it.We also received red lights when puttingRaspberry Jamon the offering plate.
Currently, we’reunsure if you can remove the offering and place a new one.This didn’t seem to work; we had to move on to a new map after placing the jam and getting red lights.
What Rewards Do The Bludnik Give?
After placing a good offering, chests will appear! At minimum, one chest will pop up, but there is achance that several more appear in the surrounding area as well.Within these chests, you canobtain new clothing, as well as a brand-newcandlemaking station.Here, you’ll be able to make custom candles!
If you don’t get a unique piece of clothing or the candlemaking station right away, don’t give up!There is no guarantee that you’ll get these right away;you may have to visit a few maps and offer food to Bludnik there. Additionally, try experimenting by offering several pieces of the food, asthis may increase the amount of chests that appear.
