InStar Wars Outlawsyou can find all sorts of intel that can lead you to unlocking experts, finding upgrade materials, or discovering gear for either Kay or Nix to wear. Once such type of intel leads you down a journey of discovery by finding various Encrypted Transmissions in orbit.
But what are these Encrypted Transmissions, what do they lead to, and how do you find them all? We’ve got all the intel you need right here on how to find the Encrypted Transmissions and what you can unlock with them. So strap into your ship and hang on tight!
What Are Encrypted Transmissions?
When flying around orbit, you’ll start finding theseyellow, cylindrical containers that hold encrypted transmissionsthat you can’t decrypt yet. There are 16 of them in total.
You will run into a lot of pirateswhile collecting the encrypted transmissions, so make sure your ship is ready for battle.
Once you’ve collected all four of the CIS Transmissions in Akiva Orbit, ND-5 will be able to triangulate where the signal is coming from,and will tell you to investigate the Abandoned Landing Pad on Akiva.
If you go check out the Abandoned Landing Pad,you’ll trigger the beginning of the Expert quest line, The Veteran. You can do this now, orafter you’ve collected all 16 transmissions.
Completing the Veteran quest will unlock the Decryption Module,allowing you to listen to all the transmissionsyou found,as well as allow you to get the Disruptor Gear Set.
All Akiva Orbit Transmissions
There arefour encrypted transmissions in Akiva Orbit, two in the upper region, and two in the lower region.
CIS Transmission 01
The first CIS Transmission can be found in thecenter of Trapper’s Field, by a large satellite dish.
CIS Transmission 02
Inside Kinro Comet, among the rocks and debris, you’ll find several cargo containers, as well asthe container holding the encrypted transmission.
CIS Transmission 03
This transmission is in theupper right corner of the Convoy Shipwreck.
This area of Akiva Orbit iscontrolled by the Empire, and simply flying into it will get you Wanted Status. Grab the transmission as quickly as you’re able to, and thenget out of there and find a terminal to clear Wanted Status.
CIS Transmission 04
The final CIS Transmission ison the outer right edge of Trapper’s Field, hidden behind a large rock.
All Kijimi Orbit Transmissions
Maranda’s Mistake 01
You’ll find this transmission in thePilot’s End location of Kijimi orbit. The container is between two rocks between the location marker and the Imperial Terminal.
You may have already gotten this while working onThe Mercenary quest.If, however, you currently have The Mercenary quest active, you won’t be able to grab the transmission and leave,you’ll have to complete the task for the quest first.
Maranda’s Mistake 02
You’ll find this transmission floating among some debris in theupper right area of the Derelict Ship. Make sure to look in all directions as you may not see it right away.
Previously,there was a bug on the PS5 versionthat didn’t allow you to get this transmission, but they’ve since fixed it. If you have trouble collecting this item,make sure you update your game to the most recent version.
Maranda’s Mistake 03
The Shadow Pass isdirectly west of the Derelict Ship, and you’ll find the cylinder holding the transmissionfloating around the center.
Maranda’s Mistake 04
The next transmission is back over in theDerelict Ship area, on the east side. There’s a large rocky area with a lot of bright electricity.The cylinder is right beside the bright rock.
On The Run 01
The final transmission in Kijimi Orbit is foundover by the Nebula Corein the center of the map.
All Toshara Orbit Transmissions
Toshara Orbitholds six of the Encrypted Transmissions. Three of them are in the upper half, above Fuel Station Visavi, while theother three are in the bottom half.
This area of space is alsohome to many electric enemies called Slygels.They float around space and absorb electric currents, but they can also set off an electric charge when touched or destroyed. If you fly too close to these, your ship willget zapped and you’ll lose control for a brief period.
A few of the transmissions you’ll find in Toshara Orbit will be surrounded by these creatures, butyou can destroy them from a distanceto make it safe to approach.
On The Run 02
The Crucible location in Toshara Orbitforms a U-shape around Renpalli Station. In the curve of the U, near the location marker, you’ll find the transmission cylinder floating near some mines.Shoot the mines from a safe distance, then fly closer and retrieve the transmission.
On The Run 04
The final On The Run transmissioncan be found at the bottom edge of The Crucible.
Sefin’s Journey 01
Leave The Crucible andhead over to Ship Graveyard. In the top section, as noted on the map above,you’ll find the container holding the first Sefin’s Journey transmission. Be careful, as it will be surrounded by several mines and Slygels.
Sefin’s Journey 02
You’ll find this transmissioninside some of the wreckage in the Wreck Cluster.As before, there are Slygel floating around it, so you’ll need to get rid of them first.
Sefin’s Journey 03
You’ll find this transmissionin the center of the Slygel Hive, inside some of the wreckage and surrounded by about a dozen Slygels.
Sefin’s Journey 04
The finalSefin’s Journey secret is outside the Slygel Hive, to the right of it.
Sometimesevents will spawn in this areawhere you have to fight off pirates or one of the syndicates, but once you complete the event, and it’s safe, head over and retrieve the transmission.
All Tatooine Orbit Transmissions
The only encrypted transmission you’ll find in Tatooine Orbit is the third part of the On The Run series.
Tatooine Orbit is, for the most part, empty space, and isruled entirely by the Hutt Cartel.
In the bottom left corner there’s asmall cluster of debriscalled Battle Aftermath. Inside there you’ll find a lot of cargo containers that can be looted, andnestled behind some debrisis the container holding the transmission.
