It is Remedy Entertainment’s forte to uplift the story of their games in many convoluted ways. WithAlan Wake 2’s final expansion, The Lake House, they took a different approach with their story-telling mediums, including discovering mysterious documents that allow us to delve deeper into the lore.
The mysterious documents are in sheer amounts and spread all over the sublevels, and finding them all is no easy feat since it is entirely optional. If you’re an achievement/trophy hunter, you may want to see and read these documents since they unlock one of the significant trophies from the expansion: Floor by floor.
FBC Files And Document Location
A total offifty-fivedocuments are available for you to discover on all the floors.
All the documents are placed in order of how the expansion plays out. So keep a keen eye on the instructions.

Enter the FBC building andturn hard right from the entranceto find the first document on the table in a corner near the main entrance.

This document is right after the first one on theright side of the ground floor of FBC.

Move from thesecond document’s location to find it lyingon a table before the location’s map.

Inside Jules Marmont’s office, you’re able to find the fourth documentstuck on a wallwith him and his wife, Dr. Diana’s photos.

Open the computer onJules Marmont’s desk with the password 071838and read all the emails.

Go near thewindows' cornerin Marmont’s office to find this document.

For the final document on the ground floor, exit Marmont’s office andturn hard rightto find notes written on a whiteboard.

Once you reach sublevel 1, you can find the document on atable near the shelter room.

In the generator room, you willspot the document on the generator’s left side; it does not matter if you pick it up before or after turning on the lights.

After the electricity is restored in sublevel one, return to thetable near the shelter roomand read every mail on the computer.

Visit Sublevel three to find a keycard forclearance level 2to be eligible to open the Black Rock Launcher’s room. You canfind a computer in that roomand read the emails for the documents.

The final document on the sublevel one is in the same room but on a different table.

Reach sublevel three and continue into the room on your right before the lobby to find these two documentsattached on a whiteboard.

Turn around in the same room to find the following document on the table.

Outside,enter the parallel roomto find a document near the multiple blueprints.

Move outside and keep left to find anactive projector on a table; the document will be near it.

Head inside the main hall andmove right out of the hallway to reach a room. There you can find this document.

Outside,run forward to reach the other hallwayand turn right to find another room where this document is located.

After receiving clearance level 2,return to sublevel threeand open the door in the left hallway that contains the last document.

Enter sublevel two, and you will spot ahuge concrete cell in the main hall. Descend the staircase, andnear the computer table, you will find the document.

Unlock the computer with thepassword on a sticky note and read all the emails.

After retrieving the clearance level two keycard, head back to sublevel two andwatch the two videos captured by Jules Marmontin a room on the right side of the hallway.

Once the videos end, turn around tofind an interrogation roomand locate the final document of sublevel two on the table.

Exit the elevator to enter sublevel four, and youwill find it on the ground.

Head down to thearchives tofind this piece of document in the film reels section.

Once you have crossed the sub-liminal archives, you’re able to find this document on a table on your rightbefore Dr. Diana Marmont’s office.
