How To Get An S Rank In Rooftop Run

An S rank is the highest rank you can get in a Sonic level, and the prerequisite of a Perfect Clear means you can’t make a single mistake. Thankfully, Rooftop Run is a pretty forgiving location, so it shouldn’t prove too demanding. Here are some tips to give you a headstart.

Rooftop Run Act 1 S Rank

Hope you like clock towers, because they’re a central fixture in Classic Sonic’s adventure through Rooftop Run.

As soon as you climb up to the platforms at the very beginning, bounce off the flying enemy and into the balloons. This will land you on a set of baskets on a pulley. Get ready to jump off it just before it hits its end to continue along this high route.

Later, you will come across even more of these baskets. The same applies of jumping early, with you landing on a green platform. To stay on this high route, you must jump across the red collapsible platformswhile simultaneously avoiding the swinging axes.

In the section with rolling barrels, continue right until you’re able to climb higher to press a button. This opens the door to a yellow spring which leads to a faster route.

Once you get outside again, follow the path until you land on a green platform by a swinging axe. Time your jump well toreach the red platform above it,and then jump into the tower it collapses. Follow this high route to reach a higher section of the clock tower earlier than normal.

When you near the top of the clock tower, there will be a hard-to-reach yellow spring that brings you even higher.Drop a bit lower and use a Spin Dashon the quarter pipe to reach it much easier.

Once you reach the top of the clock tower, you will grab hold of the moving hand.Carefully move Sonic around this to avoid the bombs, and aim yourself for the slot right in the middle of the clock face.

With that, you’ve completed Act 1! Finishing with atime under 5:00 minuteswill get you an A Rank, though you can boost your score up to 50,000 with a hefty number of Rings, too. Get a Perfect Clear to shoot it up to an S Rank.

Rooftop Run Act 2 S Rank

Harkening back to Sonic Unleashed,Act 2 of Rooftop Run is all about boostingand reaching the goal in the fastest, most stylish way possible.

From the get go, you’ll want to jump on the grind rail andhop off it near the end to reach some Rainbow Ringsthat will bring you to a higher route. If you miss this, around the next corner has some balloons you’re able to use your Homing Attack on to let you skip the alley with enemies.

After passing the checkpoint by the axe, keep to the left to pass through a buildingthat speeds faster through this section.

After the Trick Ramp, immediatelyjump to reach a higher areaand boost through the building ahead. There will be some balloons you may use your Homing Attack on to keep yourself on this high route. Boost past the swinging axe to continue.

As you run through the next area, keep jumping as you near every ledgeto stay on the high route. You’ll lose very little time if you miss though, so don’t be too worried about this section.

Once you start drifting down the streets, keep an eye open for when you reach the end. You’ll want tojump here to reach some Dash Ringsto speed you along to the goal.

In the final sprint, you need toboost into the enemies along the way to defeat the flying enemies on the airship. This isn’t essential, but it cuts down on the number of attacks the airship can do against you, as well as dropping a bevy of rings to increase your final score.

Finish with atime under 3:05 minutes and a score of 50,000to get an A Rank. Turn that into an S Rank with a Perfect Clear.
