Psychopaths areDead Rising Deluxe Remaster’sbread and butter. They offer bizarre battles against other humans who are totally off their rocker, leading to some incredibly challenging and strange boss fights. With a staggering 15 unique Psychopath encounters in the game (excluding repeating characters), there are lots of them to stumble upon.
However, with that many Psychopaths in the game and a limit on how much time you have to explore the mall, you may very well miss out on Scoops and opportunities to encounter them, making it all the more important to learn where they how, how to trigger their appearance, and what you get for defeating them!
In Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster,Psychopaths are tied to specific Scoopsthatbecome available during particular daysof the outbreak. TheseScoops also fall into time windows, giving you alimited amount of time to track them down and complete them, which can become increasingly challenging the further you progress the story.
Some Psychopaths are mandatory, meaning you willalways fight them no matter what, even if the Case’s time ‘expires.’ The optional Psychopaths require you to take your focus off the primary quest to defeat them, sostriking a balance between progressing the main story and seeking out additional Survivors and Psychopathswill be your ultimate goal.
Additionally, there can only be eight Survivors in the mall at a given time, soif a Psychopath has any held hostages, the Scoop may not appear until you’ve freed up enough spacefor them to spawn in. For example,Jo Slade has four hostagesin total. If you even havefive Survivors in the mall, herScoop will not become available. You mustrescue (or kill) at least one hostage in the mallfor you to receive the call from Otis about her.

Remember, it iscrucial to save Survivors around the mall to free up space for Psychopaths to appear. Some of them will beholding several Survivors hostage, meaningtheir Scoop won’t become available until you’ve cleared spacein the mall.
Again, there can only be eight Survivors in the mall at a given time, soif a Scoop isn’t coming in at the time allotted above, you mustseek out more Survivors. You can eitherbring them back to the Security Room or kill them, but westrongly urge you to save them,as you will gettons of PPfor finding them and then bringing them to safety!
As referenced above, most Psychopaths will drop unique weaponsthat willpermanently respawn in their arenaafter you defeat them. These weapons canrange from Small Chainsaws to Ceremonial Swords and so much more, making them worth seeking out and taking down.
Unfortunately, not every boss will give you a weapondrop butwill offer other items, such as a unique Book or other valuable items,so you should still seek them out whenever their Scoop becomes available. Remember touse the section aboveto find out theDay, Time, and Scoop of each Psychopath, along withhow many Survivors they have!

Please note thatin order to get Molotov Cocktails from Paul Carson, you mustsave him by putting out the fire spreading on himwith theFire Extinguisherafter defeating him andbringing him back to the Security Room. After doing this, you will eventuallyreceive a call from Otis, starting the Scoop called ‘Paul’s Present.’
Afterspeaking with Paul in the Security Room,he willgive you Molotov Cocktails whenever you talk to him, allowing you totake as many as you wish.If youlet him burn to death after defeating him, you will not get to use this item,so be sure to save him, asthese are extremely powerful, especially against large groups of zombies!
you may also find Sniper Rifles at the Huntin' Shack, so don’t worry too much about them not being a permanent respawn after defeating the Hall Family!
