Spells are a part of the arsenal that gives you an ultimate edge in a battle against a considerable boss, and these spells are all reminiscent if you are familiar with the source material for the game.
There are numerous ways to get these Spells. Using the right Spell against a specific boss can make the journey effortless. The Destined One can fool them by being petrified, cloning, or even silently flanking them.
Immobilize Spell
The Immobilize Spell is one of the mandatory initial spells you will encounterwhile battling the first boss at the beginningof your journey.
As the name suggests, the Spell canfreeze enemies' movement at your will for a short durationand provides enough time to either heal or make a decisive attack on the enemy.
Cloud Step Spell
Cloud Step is a mandatory, overpowering Spell that allows the Destined One to become one with the wind andinvisible to enemies while increasing your movement speed. Once the Spell wears off, the Destined One will put a decisive blow on the enemy before them and additionally duplicate distraction.
Cloud Step is unlocked after thefirst battle with Black Wind King.
Rock Solid Spell
While the game is labeled as a soulslike, it is missingone of the core mechanics:Parrying. However, the mandatory Rock Solid Spell fills this gap, retrievablein Chapter Two after defeating the Tiger Vanguard bossat the Crouching Tiger Temple.
If executed perfectly, the Spell can dodge an incoming attack to stun the enemy, but remember that this Spell is futile against solid blows.
A Pluck Of Many Spell
One of the best Spells that is retrievable in Chapter Two of the game,A Pluck of Many allows the Destined One to clonethemselves with a handful of their hair strands. These hefty clones are combat-worthy and can deliver massive damage in seconds, additionally making a considerable distraction for you to re-strategize your movements.
The Spell is mandatory and achievableafter talking to the Headless Minstrel NPC.
Ring Of Fire Spell
With the Ring of Fire Spell, the Destined One can create a fire circle with an area of effect thatincreases the effectiveness of consumables and overall defense. This spell is a must-have before taking on mandatory boss battles.
In the New West,you will meet the Macaque Chiefand retrieve the Spell in the second encounter.
Spell Binder Spell
The only optional Spell throughout the game is Spell Binder, which allows the Destined One toconvert their mana for a massive increase in damage. However, the Spell Binder Spell is innately risky as it prevents the Destined One from using transformations, gourds, and other Spells.
You must defeat the Green-capped Martialistto unlock the Spell Binder Spell; this boss is a part of theTreasure Hunter quest in The New West.
Life-Saving Strand Spell
Life-Saving Strand is the final and seventh mandatorySpell available only in New Game+ (Cycle 2).This Spell is rechargeable and comes in for help at last resort as it creates the Destined One’s clone on their head, absorbing the final blow and replenishing health.
Once the second story cycle begins, you will retrieve this Spellafter resting at the first Keeper’s Shrine.
