As you explore the different islands, you’ll discover a wide variety of fish and fishing rods, totems, and quests that can help you catch rarer fish. If you fish enough using these methods, you will surely be rolling in enough C$ to buy the more expensive fishing rods.
Understanding how to use fishing rods effectively, manipulate the weather with totems, and complete tasks from NPCs can turn a slow process into a more rewarding one. With the right approach, you’ll be able to pick out your favorite boat from a Shipwright and go sailing without the rush of trying to make money in Fisch.
How To Make Money By Fishing
Fishing is the only real way to make money in Fisch; by catching and selling fish, you’re able to gradually build up your wealth. However, the process can be slow, so it’s important to equip yourself with the right rods to increase your success rate.
Two rods in Fisch significantly improve your chances of catching high-value fish. These are:
When you’re out fishing, remember toequip bait to your fishing rod to help you catch different types of fish. The Rabbitfish, which is a Legendary fish, is caught more easily when Seaweed is used as bait, and can only be caught under the Arch.
More common fish, like Sea Bass and Haddock, can usually be caught without the use of bait. Although most fish in Fisch have bait suggestions, they aren’t requirements, and bait is more of a helping hand than anything else.
If you do want to use bait, you canbuy Bait Crates from most islands for 120C$. If you have a good enoughluck boost on your fishing rod, you might still be able to catch a fish without using any bait.
How To Use Totems When Fishing
Totems are an important tool for enhancing your fishing efficiency. Found on different islands in the game, Totems allow you to manipulate the environment in your server. This is perfect because some fish require specific weather and day cycles to be caught. There arefour totemsin Fisch that you can buy to improve your fishing game.
To find theSundial Totem, go to Sunstone Island andclimb the ladder. The cave is West of Merlin’s Hut, on the opposite side of Sunstone Island. Once you’re at the top of the island,walk to the right and drop down to thehidden cave.
Inside the cave, you’ll find an NPC sitting on a mat with a table next to him; on the table is the Sundial Totem, whichcosts 2000C$. Totems are single-use items, so bear that in mind when you’re buying them.
The Sundial Totemchanges the time of day from day to nightand vice versa.
Underneath Terrapin Island, in a hidden cave, is theWindset Totem— whichmakes it windy. This one is particularly hard to get to, and you’ll likely drown the first time you try to get to it.
To the left of the island’s pier, walk across to the short ledge next to my boat in the screenshot above. Drop down from there andfollow the blue lightuntil you can’t go any further; thenswim up, and you’ll get to a thin ledge with the Windset Totem on.
Though this Totem alsocosts 2000C$, you may want to stock up on two or three so you don’t have to come back here too soon.
TheTempest Totemon Snowcap Island isn’t difficult to get to, just annoying.Walk into Snowcap Cave and climb the ladder;once you’re at the top, go onto the ledge to your right, and thenwalk across the wall using the thin ledge.
You’ll be able to cross to the other side using a long icicle, and then you’ll need towalk across the second thin ledgeto get to the wider overhang that has the2000C$ Tempest Totem.
If you want to make it rain in, you’ll need the Tempest Totem.
The last Totem is the easiest one to get.Head to Mushgrove Swamp, andcut through the Alligator Marsh to the back of the island. On a ledge between the cliffs, you’ll see the Smokescreen Totem.
An alternative route is tosail to the southeast side of Mushgrove Swap and find the broken ladder. The Smokescreen Totem is on that ledge, and alsocosts 2000C$.
This totemmakes it become foggy, which is perfect for catching Cod, Mackerel, and rarer fish like the Bull Shark.
Fish Abundance Pools
If you’re looking for a less effort-intensive method, seek out Fish Abundance Pools. These are special in-game events where certain areas have anincreased chance of catching a specific type of fish.
Fish Abundance Pools are announced with an in-game message. They appear randomly on every server, though, so even if you’ve just loaded in, it’s worth checking for one. Tofind an Abundance Pool, you’ll need to set sail in a boat. By the time you reach the middle of the map, you’ll be able to look around and see if an Abundance Pool has spawned anywhere.
By fishing in these Abundance Pools, you canstay in one place and fishwithout the need to travel, making it an efficient way to earn money.
Appraise Your Catch For Extra Profit
Once you’ve caught fish, you can increase their value through appraisal. In Moosewood, an NPC Appraiser, located to the left of the Merchant, can evaluate your fish for 450C$. With some luck, the appraisal will boost your fish’s worth.
It’s sometimes worth appraising larger fish, which may display their weight in yellow in your inventory, signaling their potential for higher profits. Unfortunately, appraising a fish like this isn’t always worth it —don’t bother appraising common or uncommon fish.
It’s arisk to Appraise Mutated fish.They may lose their Mutation, which makes them worth less.
Complete Quests From Anglers
Anglers across the islands offer quests that reward you with money. you may speak with Anglers on any island to gain a quest and earn more money.

You can only take one Angler quest at a time.All of the Anglers in Fisch are aware of your current Angler quest, so you don’t need to travel back to the same Angler to give in your fish and get your reward.
While these methods may not be the quickest, they provide solid opportunities for building your income in Fisch and setting yourself up for success.
