Almost everything in Coal Town has been invented by a genius individual by the name of Yuri, and her strange, yet wonderful creations enhance the lives of everyone living there. The first time you meet her, she’s working on a new invention, and it seems she’s short a few materials, so it’s time to help her out.
How To Complete The Pretty Lady’s An Inventor
This main missionbecomes available after you’veprogressed the story enough to unlock Coal Town, and you’vegotten Yosoi to make Grilled Masu Salmonfor the Back Alley Man as yourfirst Cooking Challenge.
Follow Sumi andspeak to Yuri inside the laboratory, then she’ll give you thefirst Invention Challengeand alist of materialsshe’ll need to make it:
At this point in the game, themainwayyou’ll be able tofind these materialsis byexploring Coal Town itself.
You canrefresh the spawns for any type of materialby leaving a screen, going to another area, and then going back to the previous screen.
Each time youwalk onto a screen, there’s achance for different materialsto appear assparkling spots in random places, like the wild vegetables and insects of Unbent Village, and this is where you’ll be gettingViolet Coalite Fragments and Iron Ore.
How To Find The Materials
For theVacuum Tubes, this mission alsointroduces Shiro’s Discoveries, and hecan potentially sniff one outat several locations:In Front Of Main Staircase,Coal Town West Street, or In Front Of Coal Town Station.
BothViolet Coalite Fragments and Iron Orecan be found at thesame locations as the Vacuum Tubes, as well as at theVacant Lot,Back Alley, andRooftop Road.
You generally find between one and threeof either material, so it can takerunning between several locationsto find enough.
Once you’ve got everything,bring the materials back to Yuriat the laboratory and speak with her. She’ll get you toput them in her machine, and they’ll end up creating the important item,Street TV That’s Also A Street Lamp.
Bring it over toIn Front Of The Main Elevator, and you’llcomplete your first invention challenge, but youdon’t get a rewardoutside ofprogressing the main story.
