You need Salt to cook a lot of different foods inThrone And Liberty. It’s a staple ingredient and crafting material in most dishes, especially as you are first starting to level up the skill. Beginner dishes, like Meat And Onion Soup, will require at least one salt to craft.
However, unlike other ingredients which can be gathered from foraging and hunting, salt is a little harder to come by. You need to either harvest it from creatures in Solisium’s coastal areas, or send your Amitois on expeditions that offer salt as an expedition reward.
Salt is available from creatures in two locations:
Windhill Shores
In Windhill Shores, Salt is dropped by these creatures when defeated:
This is a low-level area which makes it easy to group farm a lot of mobs at the same time.
Daybreak Shores
Mobs here hover in the 30-40 range and are therefore slightly harder to kill.
We haven’t been able to determine whether Salt is a more common drop from the higher level enemies.
Some players on our server have suggested that Salt is a more common dropp when you farm the mobs when it is raining, but we haven’t been able to confirm or deny this.
Salt From Amitoi Expeditions
Because Salt isn’t a super-common drop for farming world mobs, the easiest way we’ve found to build up a stockpile of Salt is to target farm Amitoi Expeditions where Salt is available as a reward.
Early on, this will be theUrstella Fieldsexpedition. You can get up tonine saltfor a 1-hour expedition with threeboosted Amitois(arrow next to them in selection.)
Amitoi Expeditions can be accessed via theAmitoi House.You can reach this area by simply clicking on the icon of the Amitoi next to your hotbar at the bottom of the screen.
You should be completingAmitoi Expeditionsfrequently, as they offer a good number ofAbyssal Contract Tokenswhich you’ll need to farm open-world dungeons, anyway. If you’re keen on leveling the cooking skill, which is a good idea because some of the buffs for high-level food are very powerful, then you’ll need lots of Salt to get started.
