When you gain control of your protagonist inMetaphor: ReFantazio, the first thing you are tasked with is taking a test at the Recruitment Centre. While it may seem insignificant at first, you need to choose your answer carefully as this test will determine the starting stats you will have, at the beginning of your gameplay.

This is a perfect chance to get an upper hand in combat, depending on your playstyle. Each answer will impact one of the battle stats that may make a difference during the early game fights in the game. Read on to discover how each answer can influence your journey.

What Is The Recruitment Centre Test?

After reaching the Recruitment Centre by following the waypoint, you will trigger a cutscene where two members of the military force are interviewing Strohl. After a heated exchange, it will be your turn toanswer the Haughty Captain’s questions.

He will remark about your race, and will ask about your reason for enlisting. You can answer this question bychoosing any optionthat you find fun, and it hasno consequence on your character. However, the next question is important andit will determine your beginning stats. The captain will ask you more about how you can contribute to the army and wants to know more about your skills.

Which Answer Should You Pick?

The stat changes by picking any of the answer in the Recruitment Centre are minimal, but they give you a nice headstart and will help you clear the first DungeonNorthern Border Fortin Metaphor: Refantazio.

We recommend youpick magic as it will help you exploit the enemy’s weaknessby using elemental attacks. If you have trouble managing mana, you canpick strengthas you can landstronger attacks with your melee weapon.

You don’t need Endurance, Agility and Luck much during your first dungeon, as the enemies and bosses you face here are easy to deal with.
