You’ll be fairly far intoMetaphor: ReFantaziobefore the first instance of a limited event occurs. On August 6th, while aboard the Gauntlet Runner en route to an island destination, the protagonist is compelled to spend some time with one of several characters. Here’s the rub: you can only pick one; you’re locked out of the rest.

Two rewards await you for each choice: a unique accessory, and exclusive insight into one of your companions. We’ve gone through them all, so we’ll give you a primer on what you’re missing with all the unlucky sorts who don’t earn your momentary affection.

Strohl dwells aboard the Gauntlet Runner in Metaphor: ReFantazio.

Before we begin, we should mention thatevery unique accessory offers the same great perk of +5 to all stats. This will actually be different in a later event, which provides fully unique weapons. But the 8/6 event items are nevertheless each of a separate make entirely.

Strohl

Strohlis struggling to come up with ways todefeat Louis. The protagonist can assure him thathe’ll think of something, which prompts Strohl to remark thatideas seem to come to him easily.

Reminiscing overwhen the two friends met, Strohl says thathe knew he liked the protagonist from very early on. He then says hehas grown to think of the protagonist as his little brother. Cute!

Description

Nacre Bracelet

Made from a blue seashell, and said to ward off sea disasters, since seashells survive the deep sea and wash ashore.

Hulkenberg

Hulkenbergcompliments Neuras' capabilities inadapting the Gauntlet Runner to handle the sea. She expresses her gratitude for the calmness of the sea, now, relative to last night’s tumult. An entertaining littleimitation of Strohl’s seasicknessoccurs.

Funny as all that may be, upon bringing upthe first time she was aboard a boat, Hulkenberg describes how she was ridiculed for taking care to protect the comatose prince. You’re given a chance tocomfort her as she mournfully ponders whether she seeks her own death.

Junah requests a lullaby aboard the Gauntlet Runner in Metaphor: ReFantazio.

Narwhal’s Horn

Hulkenberg received this from a fortune teller; it supposedly protects against the dangers of the sea. Although she dismissed it as hogwash at the time, she was stricken ill the following day, had to remain on land rather than board the boat she intended to travel on, and later learned the boat was lost at sea.

Heismay

Heismaybegins by inviting the protagonist up to the watchtower. He explainsthe serenity of the locationbefore noting thatthe fish are disturbed by the recent chaos with the sea monster.

The conversation takes a serious turn, however, when Heismaydescribes a time when he took his son fishing, and his poor son was surprised thata fish would be willing to be caught by a eugief like himself.

Falcon Anklet

This is an amulet, Heismay explains, that was crafted in honor of “an avian creature, which soars across the sky in a manner like a shooting star.”

Junah

Junahwants to discuss theMagnus brothers, Fidelio and Basilio. Shethanks the protagonistfor saving Fidelio’s life beforeapologizing for the fact that they’ve joined the party on the trip to Virga Island.

Although sheimplores the protagonist recognize that the brothers are not bad people, she also takes responsibility for their arrival, and still warns him not to trust them completely.

Basilio aboard the Gauntlet Runner in Metaphor: ReFantazio.

Things get lighthearted whenJunah requests the protagonist sing her a lullaby.Take her up on it!

Aeon Pearl Ring

Made from a pearl, which Junah explains come from oysters. As pearls take so long to form, they symbolize growth and prosperity. Junah bought it for herself, but it’s too big…

Fidelio

Fideliodoesn’t trust the team - and, in fairness - he’s not wrong. But speaking with himwillopen him up more for a little bit. He’s clearly got that “tsundere” thing going on. Although hewarns the protagonist not to “try anything funny” with Junah, you can tell he’s softened.

He’ll even thank the protagonist for saving him. It’s a tense but insightful little scene.

Handmade Flute

Basilio explains that it’s a flute sold by a Brilehaven peddler

which allegedly wards against evil.

Basilio

Basiliostarts off by shrugging the protagonist off, sayinghis brother told him not to speak to them much. Fair enough. But the conversation shifts to something rather funny;Basilio is afraid of a “portal to hell” deep at sea, and he justifies his fear, rather unnecessarily.

He thenthanks the protagonist for saving his brother, and you have a chance to note the dedication that Basilio harbors toward Fidelio. Upon realizing he’s “blabbed his mouth” despite his brother’s warnings, heinsists this not be brought up to Fidelio.

White Sand Rose

A paripus charm said to bring good luck; that said, Basilio admits that this is a “novelty shop knockoff.” He used to have a real one, but lost it in a fight.
