Summary
Despiteits reveal more than three years ago, there has been very little in the way of official updates regardingInsomniac’s Wolverine. While that’s still the case when it comes to how the game will look and when it might be here, there’s been an update on who exactly is working on Insomniac’s next big Marvel game revealing its creative director left the project months ago and his since started working with Xbox.
The updates on the changes at the top of the Wolverine team come courtesy ofGame File’s Stephen Totilo. According to Totilo, Brian Horton, who was the creative director on Wolverine, two sources confirmed to him not only that Horton had left the studio, but his departure came over the summer. Although Horton didn’t work on either of Insomniac’s mainline Spider-Man games, he was the creative director on Miles Morales.
Not only is Horton no longer working on the project, but its game director Cameron Christian is also no longer connected to Wolverine. However, unlike Horton, Christian is still working at Insomniac in an unknown role. Horton and Christian have been replaced by Marcus Smith and Mike Daly who previously worked together onRatchet & Clank: Rift Apart. Clearly a pair Insomniac has a lot of faith in following the success of what was its first PS5 exclusive.

Big Changes At The Top On Huge PlayStation And Xbox Projects
While Christian remains at the studio in another role, Horton left when removed as Wolverine’s creative director and is now in the same role at Xbox working on itsPerfect Darkreboot. The new Perfect Dark was announced even longer ago than Wolverine, first confirmed to be in the works by Xbox during 2020’s Game Awards. Until the rebootreceived a new trailer during this summer’s Xbox Showcase, there had been no official update on the project for almost four years.
Unofficial updates pointed to trouble behind the scenes for Perfect Dark, and that there has seemingly been a reshuffle at the top with Horton brought in to lead the way adds credence to those rumors. As for Wolverine, Totilo was told the reason for the changes over the summer were creative decisions connected to the game. No one from Sony was willing to confirm or elaborate on that.
