Summary
Less than three months to go andX-Men ‘97remains the best TV show of 2024 (provided you haven’t seen Shogun). One of the betterMarvelprojects in recent years,Lego launched an X-Jet setalongside the show. The jet’s arrival was accompanied by rumors of an even bigger and better X-Mansion to follow, and with a rumored November release date, the first images of the set appear to have found their way onto social media.
The image of the set features Minifigure versions of various characters from X-Men ‘97 battling a Sentinel outside of a Lego version of Charles Xavier’s School For Gifted Youngsters. It’s unclear where exactly the image has come from so take it with a pinch of salt for now, but it appears to be the real thing. It also includes ten Minifigures which is the number that has been banded around since rumors about this mansion set started to swirl.
As is often the case with superhero sets the size of this one, it’s the little details and easter eggs that will make it really special (see the Batman The Animated Seriesset for the perfect example of that). Some of the little extras on show in the X-Mansion set have already demonstrated that. Wolverine is riding a motorcycle, Cyclops has a long red Lego piece that makes it look like he is shooting a laser beam from his eyes, and Gambit bouttamakeanameforhimself using a handful of Lego playing cards.
Potentially A First Look At The Rumored X-Men ‘97 Mansion Set
I’d Pay $300 For The Gambit Minifigure Alone
If this really is the set we’ve been waiting for, and the rumors that preceded it are also true, then the wait for it is almost over. The X-Mansion set is expected to be released on May 29, 2025. Now comes the bad news. At more than 3,000 pieces, the very detailed Lego version of the X-Men ‘97 mansion is going to cost $329.99. One of the more expensive Marvel Lego sets but between the Minifigures included, the shows it’s tied to, and the scenes you will be able to recreate from it, that was to be expected.
November is set to be a quieter month for new Lego sets with even the X-Mansion, which hasn’t actually been officially announced yet, one of the only sets arriving next month. It follows on from what has been a very busy month for Lego in October. Among the sets released this month isa Batmobile modeled after the car used in the 1960s live-action Batman show, the Super Mario World 16-bit set, andFortnite’s first Lego sets. Likely not the last Lego sets we will see spun from the battle royale considering the popularity ofLego Fortnite.
