Summary

Yakuza: Like A Dragon, the TV adaptation of the hit video game series, is now on Amazon Prime. Well, the first three episodes of it are, and RGG Studio will be hoping the show has the same effect on audiences as theFalloutadaptation did earlier this year by driving new players to theYakuzagames. In anticipation of that, Sega is holding a Yakuza franchise sale, cutting the price of every game in the series across multiple platforms by at least 50 percent, and some by as much as 75 percent.

EvenLike A Dragon: Infinite Wealth, the newest installment in the series which isn’t even a year old, has been heavily discounted following the show’s premiere. Usually $60,the Game of the Year contender is on sale for just $29.99. If you aren’t familiar with Infinite Wealth, you are getting a heck of a lot more than $30 of game. It’s arguably not a bad starting point for new fans too, but if you do want to go back further, you’ve got a lot of discounted options right now.

If you really want to do this properly, you need to go all the way back to Yakuza 0. Not the first game released, but the earliest in the Yakuza timeline and, in my opinion, the best place to start. If you’re not convinced Yakuza is your thing, you may pick up Yakuza 0 for $4.99 right now. Even if you play for a few hours and hate it, which is incredibly unlikely, at worst, you’re out five bucks. At best, you’ve just paid $5 for one of the best games you will ever play.

WHERE TO PLAY

Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth continues the story of Ichiban Kasuga, in the ninth mainline entry in the series formerly known as Yakuza. It will once again feature turn-based combat, and takes our protagonist outside of Japan for the first time.

If you already know that Yakuza is for you and you’ve just been waiting for a sale like this to get started, The Yakuza Complete Series is also heavily discounted. Despite the name of the collection, it doesn’t include every game in the series. Just the first seven, so Yakuza 0 through Yakuza 6, which is everything until the series underwent its Like A Dragon name change outside of Japan. Usually $110,you can currently get that seven-game box set for less than $50.
