Summary
SteelSeriesis a company known for manufacturing all sorts of gaming and streaming accessories, from microphones to mice to controllers. The company also has a long line of headsets for all your audio needs. Yet, what the company hasn’t had is a set of gaming earbuds… until now. Or at least, almost now, as SteelSeries' Arctis Gamebuds aren’t available yet.
However, they have recently been made available to preorder at Best Buy. They’re set to release on June 13, 2025, so you won’t have to wait too long to get your hands or ears on them. To do so, you will need to spend $160, as that is the current price on Best Buy.
Best Buy lists the release date as July 08, 2025, but the video on the SteelSeries site says the Gamebuds will be released on Jul 17, 2025.
There are two slightly different versions of the Gamebuds. One is designed for the PlayStation, while the other is made specifically for Xbox consoles. Yet neither is exclusive to their respective consoles, so PC and Switch users can use them, too. Both versions are visually identical, except you can get the PlayStation ones in white, which fits more with the main PS5 color.
Gamebuds To Use When Playing With Your Gamer Buds
SteelSeries - Arctis GameBuds
SteelSeries’s Gamebuds are 2.4GHz wireless and Bluetooth earbuds with active noise cancellation and a ten-hour battery life. There are two versions: one designed for PlayStation consoles and another for Xbox systems. However, both can be used with PCs, Switch, and other devices.
Both versions of Gamebuds offer 2.4GHz Wireless and Bluetooth connectivity. They come with a USB-C Nano-Dongle, and the box also contains a USB-C to USB-A adapter cable. As for the audio, Gamebuds have active noise cancellation, and the mobile companion app even comes with preset audio for a litany of games to enhance the sound as much as possible.
As you’d expect from wireless earbuds, they come with a little case to keep them in. This case not only keeps them safe but also keeps them juiced up, as it’s a Wireless charging case. A fully charged set of Gamebuds should last about ten hours. And that ten hours shouldn’t be too hard on your ears since small, medium, and large ear tips are included, meaning there should be one that fits in your ears easily. Of course, since the buds aren’t out yet, we can’t say with any authority that the audio quality is excellent, as we haven’t been able to use them. However, you can try them yourself come June 17, 2025.
